Introducing the Neck Bridge/ Self Treatment for Neck Pain and Tension Headaches
August 12, 2016
Here is my latest invention for self treatment. I call this the Neck Bridge. If you suffer from chronic upper neck tension or headaches this device has been very helpful for my patients. The upper cervical spine is rich in mechanoreceptors for proprioception. These are small sensing devices at the end of nerves that help orientate your posture by causing incoming information to your brain stem to tell the postural muscles what to do. By stimulating this rich bed of sensing devices in you neck you can have whole body changes in movement and reduction of pain. I call this the upper cervical whole body treatment. The instrument is easy to make and use. Do not lay on your side to treat your neck since this may compress blood vessels. Only lay on your back and turn your head for self treatment. Never lay on it face down.
